Poem 3

Tropic Sea
Found poem from Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea

No land was visible
On the calm water
The wind had backed into the north
White peaks of the Islands rising from the sea
Came in from the dying moon
That cold water in the dark,
Rough now with the increasing breeze
A phosphorescent streak in the water
The Yellow Gulf weed
The reflected glare of the lights of the city
The lights of the Terrace
At the little harbor
Come up from the sunrise
The glow of Havana

Poem 2

Prejudice
An acrostic poem

Perhaps there is so much inequality between people
Regretting is not an option to confront the issues
Erasing the wide gap would be too much of a hassle
Just simply accept and tolerate the differences
Until a harmony arises from a chasm of chaos
Develop itself into a beautiful garden blooming with flowers
Inside, they are essentially the same, be they different on the surface
Coping with each other to create an amiable environment
Essentially one in which the diversity turns into uniformity

Poem 1

The Old Man Down the Street
A limerick

On the other side of the town lived a short old man
He went down the street one day to get a new pan
The man got into a mall through a large spinning door
His long baggy pants got caught and fell to the floor
Naked and hairless in his underwear, out he ran
